The Gee-Gees pick up their second loss of the season after coming up short against the Concordia Stingers on the road Sunday afternoon.

Third-year left wing Matthieu Methot, Ottawa, Ont., scored the first two goals for the Gee-Gees, the first coming off a power play with less than a minute in the first period to tie things up going into the break. Second-year left wing Sean Smyth, Clarence Creek, Ont,, would go on to contribute another goal for the garnet and grey in the third, but it would not be enough, falling 6-3 to the Stingers.

“We took some penalties in the third period,” explained Gee-Gees head coach Dave Leger. “They [Concordia] ended up scoring three more goals and we weren’t able to catch up.”

“I think it’s a good lesson to have early on in the season, adds Leger. “We can’t sit and wait until the third period. We have a young team and we will be able to use this as a lesson as we continue to move forward.”

The Gee-Gees will host their next game of the regular season next Friday, October 22, at 7:00 p.m. as they take on the Ryerson Rams (4-1-0 OUA) at the uOttawa Sports Complex.
