*This will be the Gee-Gees’ last weekend at home, with only seven games left in the regular season.
*The Gee-Gees defeated both the Varsity Blues and the Rams on the road two weeks ago.
*Gee-Gees fifth-year guard and all-time leading scorer Josh Gibson-Bascombe (Toronto, Ont.) was this week’s uOttawa athlete of the week. He currently leads the CIS rankings in assists with 98, is second in steals with 44, and eighth for total points with 291.
*Third-year guard Matt Riendeau (Ottawa, Ont.) is ranked fifth in the nation for field goal percentage with 56.5%.
*Fifth-year guard Donnie Gibson (Kingston, Ont.) and Toronto’s Nick Magalas (Burlington, Ont.) are tied for second place in the OUA for three-point percentage with 43.8%.
*Ryerson’s third-year forward Boris Bakovic (Toronto, Ont.) is currently second in the nation for total points with 350. Bakovic recently became the Rams all-time leading scorer with 1343 career points and was named this week’s OUA athlete of the week.
*“We [the team] are confident coming into this weekend,” said Gibson after the Capital Hoops Classic game Wednesday night. “But it’s tough playing five games in eight days,” he added.
