HEADLINE: Gibson-Bascombe paces Gee-Gees to eighth straight win
Fourth-year guard Josh Gibson-Bascombe poured in 22 points Friday night for the No. 4 uOttawa Gee-Gees eighth straight win, 98-63 over visiting Ryerson.
The Gee-Gees, which improved to 11-0 against the Rams since the 2003-04 season, ran to a 20-16 lead after the first quarter and 17-point lead at the half (39-22) off 12 points and five assists in 18 minutes from Gibson-Bascombe, the Gee-Gees leading season scorer.
uOttawa, now 8-1 in the OUA East, didn’t let off the gas, opening a 20-point lead with 5:25 left.
Five Gee-Gees finished in double digits, including fourth-year guard Donnie Gibson, who had 17 points and two rebounds.
Fourth-year Gee-Gees transfer point guard Josh Wright had four fouls and 11 points with three rebounds in his Canadian Interuniversity Sport debut after playing three years at Syracuse.
Third-year forward Boris Bakovic paced the 5-5 Rams with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
