The Gee-Gees men’s basketball team will open its summer exhibition schedule by travelling to Montreal to meet the Indiana Hoosiers at Champlain College. The game is set for 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 10. An announcement of additional games, held at Montpetit Hall, will be made shortly.
The Hoosiers’ trip north will also include games against McGill and Carleton and will be the first Canadian visit for the Big Ten program, which last travelled internationally to the Bahamas in 2007. Indiana returns a large portion of its roster from last season, losing just three seniors. Leading scorer Yogi Ferrell will headline the group heading north having led the squad with 17.3 points per game as part of the team’s 17-15 overall record. The Hoosiers exited the Big Ten tournament in the first round, falling to Illinois.
Ottawa recorded a 1-2 record against NCAA competition last summer, recording a 90-74 win over Texas Christian University before losing a by a single digit margin to the Wisconsin Badgers who reached the 2014 NCAA Final Four, and by a 73-50 score to Syracuse.
