Men’s Basketball (4-7 OUA)
@ RMC (0-12 OUA) on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 8:00 p.m.
Johnny Berhanemeskel 14 points, 3 rebounds; Gabriel Gonthier-Dubue 12 points - uOttawa
Jonathon Wilson 18 points; Gavin Viray-Cox 10 points, 2 rebounds - RMC
The Gee-Gees dominated over RMC in tonight’s 105-33 victory, gaining a real team win with the entire roster contributing.
The Gee-Gees never allowed RMC more than 9 points in a quarter, but were able to stack up the points themselves with every player scoring and seven players contributing points in the double digits.
Head coach James Derouin was quick to note this statistic, “That’s pretty amazing, because nobody had more than 14 points, everybody scored and seven guys in double figures never happens. So there’s no individual stat that really stands out, but [this team statistic] is a great thing to see.”
“From a team standpoint, we got our guys a lot of playing time, and game like that are good for that,” said Derouin in reflection on the team play. “We’re happy; the guys stayed focus, which is always a challenge in a game like that. They did a great job.”
The Gee-Gees will now need to say focused heading into tomorrow night’s match-up against Queen’s (2-9 OUA) at 8:00 p.m.
