Gee-Gees Fight Song Contest

The search is on for a new Gee-Gees Fight Song! And YOU can be part of Gee-Gees history and author the next greatest fight song in the present university age! With the new Gee-Gees field opening this fall at Lees campus, there’s no better way to mark this new era in Gee-Gees sport than with a new fight song to fire up school spirit and celebrate the start of a Gee-Gees tradition!

The contest opens April 5th and submissions are due by July 1st, 2013. The winner will be announced August 1st! So tap into that deep well of Gee-Gees pride, let your creativity flow, and funnel that uOttawa passion into a Gee-Gees fight song!

Contest Rules:

  1. Fight Song must be 30 seconds or shorter.
  2. Submission must be made by video with sound.
  3. The authors/composers of the Gee-Gees’ Fight Song must consist of between 1 to 4 individuals per submission; however there is no limit to the amount of people starring in the video.
  4. The Fight Song must not be sport-specific, opponent-specific or contain vulgar content.
  5. The Fight Song must be easy to learn, represent the University’s bilingual population and in some way demonstrate pride in being a uOttawa student.
