Julia Malleck, Track and Field

Fifth-year middle distance runner Julia Malleck from Kitchener, Ontario shaved an astonishing eight seconds off her personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:29.74 at the Louis Riel Dome Saturday Super Series on the weekend. 

With the great time the Nursing major has qualified for the CIS nationals.

The uOttawa Track and Field team are off to upstate New York State on Saturday for the St. Lawrence Classic.

Melina Wishart, Basketball 

The fourth-year guard from Ottawa, Ontario Melina Wishart was the Gee-Gees top point getter over the weekend with 34 points and 8 rebounds. 

The Social Science major picked up 17 points in uOttawa’s 61-52 loss to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues on Friday night then duplicated the feat 24 hours later as the Gee-Gees edged the Ryerson Rams 60-58.

The Gee-Gees are back home this weekend hosting RMC on Friday, January 22, and Queen’s , Saturday, January 23 (Rogers). Game times at Monpetit Hall are 6:00 p.m. (SSN Canada).
