Émilie Morasse, Basketball


Third year guard Émilie Morasse (Quebec City, Qué.) is uOttawa’s Female Athlete of the Week. The 5’6” Psychology Major continued to contribute to the Gee-Gees cause with her strong all around play over the weekend. In Friday night’s 58-55 Gee-Gees victory over McMaster in Hamilton, Morasse collected 12 points and 4 defensive rebounds.


Then on Saturday evening against Lakehead, Morasse was the Gee-Gees leading scorer with 17 points, 3 rebounds and a perfect 4/4 from the free throw line. Morasse played 38 minutes, the most by any uOttawa player in a 58-52 loss to the Thunderwolves. After 9 games this season, Morasse is second in team scoring with 99 points.


The Gee-Gees (5-4 OUA, 14-7 overall) wrapped up the first part of the regular season on Saturday against Lakehead. uOttawa will return to OUA action at home on January 8, 2010 against York.
