The no. 10 ranked Gee-Gees women’s basketball team arrived in Florida on Friday, taking advantage of the warm weather location to add two visits to NCAA Division II programs to the winter exam break.

Ottawa will face Rollins College, located in Orlando, on Tuesday, December 31. The Tars are also nationally ranked, sitting at no. 18 after a 10-2 start to the campaign. The following day, the garnet and grey will scrimmage with the Florida Southern University Moccasins in Lakeland, Florida.

Both teams compete in the Sunshine State Conference, and between the two have captured the last three conference championships. Rollins completed a title defense last season, while FSU won in 2011.

The Gee-Gees already have two NCAA wins in their belt this year, having topped Iona College (71-68) and Monroe College (61-48) on the road in late October.

The OUA regular season resumes on January 10, when Ottawa will make the first visit to league newcomer, Algoma University.
