The all-time leading scorer and rebounder in uOttawa program history will be joining the Gee-Gees women’s basketball team staff this summer. Hannah Sunley-Paisley, who won the Nan Copp Memorial Trophy in 2012 as the CIS Player of the Year, will act as the team coordinator on a nine-week contract this summer.
Since her time in Garnet and Grey, Sunley-Paisley has pursued basketball professionally in Germany, gained a certificate in Fitness and Health Promotions from Algonquin College where she also acted as assistant coach of the Thunder basketball team, and has been working as a certified personal trainer. In her new position with uOttawa, she will be responsible for the overall management and administration of the women’s basketball program.
During her incredible five-year stint with the team as a player the Toronto native was named the OUA East Player of the Year three seasons in a row. She is the only player in Gee-Gees history to win that award, and was also the first to be named to the All-Canadian teams three times.
Sunley-Paisley joins the team to assist while head coach Andy Sparks takes a temporary leave to spend time with family. The reigning OUA Coach of the Year will return to lead the team during its exhibition tour of Costa Rica in August in preparation for the 2016-17 season, which will be his ninth at uOttawa. All inquiries regarding the team during this time should be directed to Sunley-Paisley at firstname.lastname@example.org
