Congratulations, you’re officially a University of Ottawa Gee-Gee! As a student, you have access to the Montpetit Fitness Centre and the Health and Lifestyle Centre at the Minto Sports Complex at no additional cost. These conveniently located fitness centres have equipment that will help you target your strength, your endurance and your flexibility. If you are looking for a little help getting started, we have a wonderful Personal Training Service or if like the idea of working out in a group, we have a number of courses, run by Certified Personal Trainers that might be right for you!

The Big 3: learn to lift is a course that focuses on the squat, the deadlift and the bench press. With this six week program that starts September 18th, you’ll learn how to properly execute these three main movements as well as how you can integrate them into your training programs.

Women’s weight training has multiple weekly offerings and is offered to women only. This class takes place in a small group setting and will initiate you to various aspects of training principles and get you familiar with the equipment found in the University’s gyms.  The Certified Personal Trainer will help you push yourself and work towards reaching your fitness goals in a supportive environment.

Primal patterns is a unique fitness program that focuses on developing strength through a full range of motion. While participating in this mobility-based program, you will learn and improve a variety of movements including to lifts, pushes and jumps all while working towards your overall physical fitness.

Everyone has different fitness goals and a preferred way of getting there! Find the class that will allow you to enjoy your fitness journey.
