Claude-Yves Bertrand: Head Coach A Quebec native, Claude-Yves has been delivering excellence in coaching for over 25 years and has taken part in several CIS swim titles as well as guiding swimmers to the Olympics. This level IV swim coach received a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Laval University. He held positions with UBC Thunderbirds and UBC Dolphins before being head coach of the University of Montreal, where he was named varsity coach of the year in 2011. |

Alex Davidson: Assistant coach Alex Davidson joins the Gee-Gees for his first season as assistant coach. Davidson was born and raised in Pointe-Claire, Quebec where he swam for 12 years with the Pointe-Claire swim club. While pursuing a degree in psychology, Davidson swam varsity for the University of Connecticut from 2007-2011, and currently holds multiple school records and has competed in many national finals, both in the backstroke. Team MVP for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 season, Davidson was team captain and was named Big-East All-Academic for his final year, 2010-2011. Davidson is currently pursuing his Masters in Human Kinetics, Sports Psychology at uOttawa. “I have had a lot of strong coaching and positive influences during my swimming career and hope that I can pay it forward,” said Davidson. “I am extremely excited to be working with such passionate and talented swimmers.” |
