FootballHead coach: Denis Piché Denis Piché completed his 14th season with the Gee-Gees coaching staff and seventh as head coach in 2008. Born and raised in Montreal Nord, Piché inherited a program on life support in 2002. The Gee-Gees have since achieved seven straight OUA playoff berths, including the 2006 Yates Cup title and 2008 Yates Cup final, while also producing consistently high graduation rates. |

Piché began coaching in 1990 at the CEGEP level before leaving for Europe where he coached in the French and Swiss semi-pro leagues for six seasons. He developed teams of converted rugby and soccer players and achieved Tier-I status in the infancy of football’s overseas development. Between assignments in Europe and Canada, the 2006 CIS Frank Tindall Coach of the Year trophy winner has served as an assistant or head coach on four national championship teams, including the 1997 and winning 2000 Vanier Cups with the Gee-Gees. Piché enters 2009 with a uOttawa career regular season record of 38-18. “Don’t ever, ever, regret anything you do,” Piché said. “I think people live bitter lives when they regret things.” | ||
