In 1885 the athletic association was formed and garnet and grey became our team colors. Shortly thereafter, garnet and grey became the official University of Ottawa colors. The term garnet and grey was later shortened to coin the term Gee-Gee. Today, close to 720 students participate in 11 varsity and 18 competitive sports while balancing a demanding course load and being ambassadors to the community. More than 5,500 students participate in Sports Services intramurals and over 12,000 students participate in educational and fitness programs. Gee-Gees E-newsletter |
