Weekend preview: Men's Basketball

The Varsity Blues advance to play the Gee-Gees for a third time this season following a 63-48 playoff home win over Queen’s Wednesday night.
The Gee-Gees are ranked No. 3 in this week’s CIS Top-Ten for a fourth straight week.
uOttawa finished second in the OUA East, two games behind No. 1 Carleton.
Dave DeAveiro, the eighth and winningest coach in program history, is 9-10 lifetime in the playoffs.
The Gee-Gees were 2-0 against the Varsity Blues this season, winning 80-72 at Montpetit Hall January 10 and 80-72 in Toronto February 6.
uOttawa has ended the Varsity Blues season at home the last two years by a combined four points after a 69-68 win in the OUA East semifinal in 2006-07, followed by a 63-60 home win in the East semifinal last year.
 “It’s going to be a good game,” said Gee-Gees top scorer Josh Gibson-Bascombe, a fourth-year Gee-Gees guard. “They definitely want to knock us off.”
