The Desjardins uOttawa female athlete of the week is Pilar Khoury of the no. 2 ranked women's soccer team. In the team's lone game of the weekend, a 6-0 victory at Trent, Khoury (Ottawa, Ont.) scored four consecutive goals for the Gee-Gees, giving her seven on the season. The four-goal performance was the second year striker's second multi-goal game of the season. Khoury, a health sciences student, now leads the Gee-Gees in scoring and ranks second in the OUA scoring charts.
The Desjardins uOttawa male athlete of the week is Caleb Agada, who had a breakout performance for the men's basketball team as they began their Canadian exhibition season on Saturday night against Loyalist College. The rookie guard recorded his first double-double as a Gee-Gee, coming off the bench to lead the team in both scoring and rebounding. He collected 12 rebounds including seven on the offensive end, and shot 4-for-7 from long distance on his way to posting 25 points. The Gee-Gees as a team shot 19-for-37 from three (51 per cent) and took a convincing 114-57 victory.
