The Gee-Gees basketball teams finished the regular season with matching 17-2 records and will host OUA quarter-final games this Saturday, March 5. The no. 6 ranked women will play the winner of Brock and Guelph, while the no. 2 ranked men will host the victor between Queen’s and Toronto, with those games taking place on Wednesday, March 2. None of the potential opponents are ranked in the national poll this week.
Tickets for the playoff double-header, which will tip off with the women’s game at 6 p.m., are on sale now.
This week’s rankings are steady for the Ottawa teams. The women attained the no. 6 spot last week, the highest of the season. The men are at no. 2 for the second straight week as well, after spending six weeks of the season at no. 1. The Gee-Gees women finished the regular season first overall in the OUA RPI standings, while the men were second.
