Ontario University Athletics announced its complete schedule for the upcoming basketball seasons on Monday. The University of Ottawa had both its men’s and women’s basketball teams competing for a national championship at the CIS Final 8 in 2016 after very successful 17-2 regular seasons.
The 11th edition of the MBNA Capital Hoops Classic will be held on Friday, February 3 at the Canadian Tire Centre when Ottawa takes on Carleton. Before the showdown at Canadian Tire Centre, which last year attracted over 10,000 fans, the Ravens will first visit Montpetit Hall on January 17 for the Bytown Battle.
uOttawa has the latest start date in the league with its first games coming at Algoma on November 19. The Gee-Gees also will have just one regular season home weekend prior to the December exam break, hosting McMaster and Brock on December 2-3.
Other home games for uOttawa this season are against Laurentian and Nipissing January 13-14, Lakehead and Guelph on January 20-21, and a February 17-18 matchup against Toronto and Ryerson to close out the regular season.
Season passes are available at two price levels: one which includes only the regular season games at Montpetit Hall, and one which includes all exhibition games as well as a ticket to the MBNA Capital Hoops Classic.
