GAME STORY:

Fourth-year guard Donnie Gibson poured in 19 points over just 17 minutes in a rare Saturday afternoon start for Gee-Gees men’s basketball with an anticipated result, a dominant 89-36 effort over winless RMC at Kingston.

The No.2 Gee-Gees won a 13th consecutive game after building a commanding 43-16 lead at the half.

The 10 Gee-Gees dressed for the game each played at least 17 minutes, with five scoring 10 points or better.

Gee-Gees rookie Louis Gauthier, a third-year forward, scored 10 points with 10 rebounds.

“We got to work on a few things,” said Gee-Gees head coach Dave DeAveiro. “And luckily nobody got hurt.”

uOttawa did not dress fifth-year forward and team captain David Labentowicz along with fourth-year transfer guardJosh Wright. 

The Gee-Gees face No. 1 Carleton in the 2009 MBNA Capital Hoops Classic Wednesday, January 28 (8:00 p.m.) at Scotiabank Place.
