Ontario University Athletics released its Major Awards and All-Star teams for men’s basketball on Wednesday in advance of the 2017 Wilson Cup Final Four which takes place Friday and Saturday at Carleton University. Two members of the Gee-Gees team which enters the Final Four as the no. 2 seed in the conference earned accolades including fifth-year Caleb Agada earning the conference award for Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year.

In his first season with the Gee-Gees, Jean Emmanuel Pierre-Charles averaged 14.4 points per game during the regular season and is an OUA all-star for the first time in his career. After transferring from the crosstown rival Ravens last season Pierre-Charles was a welcomed addition to uOttawa, finishing fifth in field goal percentage (54.1) and sixth in the OUA with 8.7 rebounds per game. One of the best big men and rim protectors in the game, the Ottawa, Ont. native had a career high 5 blocks in the Gee-Gees quarter-final win.
