FEATURED:

On Saturday, the Gee-Gees women’s volleyball team (3-7) is returning to the court at Montpetit Hall for a meeting with Laval (7-3). Despite losing their first two meetings with Laval this season, the Gee-Gees are hopeful that they can start their semester on the right foot and secure a win over the Rouge et Or. Action gets underway at 2 p.m and will be streaming live on OUA.tv.

HOME:

Gee-Gees women’s hockey (7-3-1) will be at home for a meeting with the U SPORTS ninth-ranked Montreal Carabins (7-1-4) on Friday night. In an exciting matchup, the Gee-Gees, who are second in the RSEQ behind the Carabins, will look to inch closer to first with a big matchup on home ice. Ottawa has yet to defeat Montreal in their two meetings so far, however the Gee-Gees will look to turn the tides in their favour. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at Minto Sports Complex, with the game streaming live on OUA.tv.

AWAY:

U SPORTS seventh-ranked Gee-Gees men’s basketball (10-2) is on the road in Toronto and Kingston this weekend. On Friday, the Gee-Gees take on a struggling York Lions team (2-10), before making the trip back to Eastern Ontario for a matchup with the scrappy Queen’s Gaels (8-4) on Saturday. Tip-off for both games is set for 8 p.m. and will be streaming live on OUA.tv.

Gee-Gees women’s basketball (7-5) is also on the road for matchups with York and Queen’s. The Lions (6-6) will present a fun matchup with the Gee-Gees, but it is the weekend’s second game that is the marquee battle. U SPORTS seventh-ranked Queen’s (11-1) will be a great test as the team tries to extend their winning streak against ranked competition to three games. Tip-off for both games is set for 6 p.m.

The Gee-Gees men’s hockey team (8-7-3) is also taking to the road this weekend for Northern Ontario matchups with Nipissing (5-10-3) and Laurentian (3-15-0). At their first stop in North Bay, the team will be looking to avenge a 3-2 loss they suffered to the Lakers on Nov. 4. The next night in Sudbury, the Gee-Gees will look to leave town with a victory over the struggling Voyageurs. Puck drop is set for 7:30 on Friday and 7:35 on Saturday, with both games streaming live on OUA.tv.

On Sunday, the Gee-Gees women’s hockey team completes back-to-back matchups with U SPORTS Top 10 teams, as they head to Montreal to face the sixth-ranked Concordia Stingers (7-3-0). Having won both of their matchups with the Stingers, the Gee-Gees need the keep the confidence rolling into the game as playoff positioning becomes increasingly more relevant. Action gets underway at 3 p.m. and will be streamed live on OUA.tv.

Gee-Gees track and field will have athletes at two big events this weekend. Some team members will be on the road in New York City for UAlbany’s Great Dane Classic at the Armory on Saturday. Other team members will be in Quebec City for Laval’s Invitation Rouge et Or, which gets underway at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The meet at Laval will be steaming live on their YouTube channel, and results will be posted on Twitter at @geegees_trackxc.
