The Gee-Gees will break up the wait until their season continues in the 2011 with the Lancer Holiday Classic in Windsor from December 29-31, 2010.

The tournament will provide some stiff competitions for the Gee-Gees as they take on the number one nationally ranked Windsor Lancers and the number five nationally ranked Western Mustangs.

“It’s not our idea of what the tournament would be,” explained head coach Andy Sparks, “We thought we’d have our team back together and it would be a good opportunity to see how we match up. But it’s a bit early for this group.”

The Gee-Gees battled through injuries for much of the first half the season and will look to have most of their roster back for this tournament.

“We’re just getting team together for the first time,” continued Sparks, “We’re just getting fitted in with roles.” Though Sparks identified this tournament would provide good practice for the team.

In their final weekend of play, the Gee-Gees were pleased to welcome the return of third-year centre Jenna Gilbert, Ottawa, Ont., who accounted for 24 points over the two games.

Fourth-year centre Hannah Sunley-Paisley, Toronto, Ont., was the uOttawa female athlete of the week for the week of Monday, November 29 based on her solid weekend performance of 13 points, 9 rebounds on the Friday and a season-high 28 points and 10 rebounds on Saturday against McMaster.
