The women’s basketball team completed an undefeated run through their competition at the Citadins Classic at UQAM by defeating the hosts 76-52 Friday night. The Gee-Gees are now 12-4 overall against CIS competition this season and have won their last nine games.
Ottawa won each of the quarters against the Citadins, steadily building their lead with contributions from all players. The bench tallied 30 points, led by Tatiana Hanlan’s 10 points on 4-9 shooting. Sarah Nolette (Edmonton, Alb.) also had a good shooting night, dropping 3-4 from three-point range. The Gee-Gees shot 44 per cent from the field as a team.
In addition to their victory over UQAM, the Gee-Gees also recorded a 53-45 win over Laval and an 86-58 win against CIS eighth-ranked Acadia. The OUA regular season resumes for the ninth-ranked Gee-Gees on Friday January 6, when they will travel to Sudbury to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs (2-6 OUA).
