HEADLINE: Triple OT thriller!
Second-year guard Emilie Morasse scored 15 points Friday in helping Gee-Gees women’s basketball to what is believed to be the longest game in program history a 84-74 triple-overtime road win at York.
“I don’t think I have ever coached a triple-overtime game,” said first-year head coach Andy Sparks, a decorated developer of provincial champions at the high school level prior to joining the Gee-Gees last July.
The Gee-Gees trailed by 10 points at the half (27-17) before out-scoring the Lions by 10 in the fourth quarter in leading to a 50-50 regulation finish.
uOttawa pulled away in the third overtime by out-scoring the 3-10 Lions 15-5.
The Gee-Gees, missing fourth-year transfer guard Allison Forbes (concussion) and third-year guard Kelly Weir (ankle), won its third of nine games against York dating back five seasons.
