Sunley-Paisley Makes Grade as All Canadian

The University of Ottawa women’s basketball team will be attempting to be rewarded with some fine play and a shiny medal this weekend as they compete at the 2010 CIS Championships at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Third year centre Hannah Sunley-Paisley (Toronto, Ont.) got an early start on her teammates on Thursday night as she was named a second team All-Canadian during a tournament banquet at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Hamilton.

Earlier this month Sunley-Paisley was named the 2010 OUA East player of the year. She led all of OUA with 415 points scored, averaging 18.9 points over 22 games. Sunley-Paisley was also second in rebounding with 237 boards, averaging 10.8 per game for a season double-double. She was also near the top of the division rankings with 52 steals, 32 blocks and a 49.3 percent field goal percentage on 171-of-347 shooting.

Sunley-Paisley also headlined the East first-team all-stars.

The 2010 CIS championship gets underway Friday at McMaster University and culminates Sunday at 3 p.m. with the gold-medal final, live on TSN2.

Rogers Cable 22 will broadcast uOttawa’s contest against the Windsor Lancers at 1 P.M. on Friday afternoon. SSN Canada will be webcasting all contests, including the final.
