The Gee-Gees opened up their weekend in Queen’s at the Tindall Invitational Tournament beating the host Gaels in a slim 59-57 conquest. The Gee-Gees had an 11 points lead in the second quarter, only to find themselves down 12 points in the third.
In Saturday’s game against UQAM, Head Coach Andy Sparks said the “shortage of players was taking its toll.” Despite a good start and going up 14-3, the Gee-Gees were badly outplayed the rest of the game.
In uOttawa’s final game on Sunday, the Gee-Gees came up just a bit too short in their 63-61 loss to Guelph. Despite what Sparks describes as a “good second half” for the Gee-Gees, they unfortunately fell two points shy when the final buzzer sounded.
An injury battled Gee-Gees squad were pleased to finish the weekend with no additional injuries.
The Gee-Gees are hosting their home and season opener this Friday, November 5, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at Montpetit Hall. (SSN Canada)
