The Toronto Varsity Blues did the Gee-Gees a huge favour by defeating Laurentian 77-64 on Saturday night giving the Voyageurs a similar 12-10 record.
uOttawa got the nod for fourth place because of their point differential in the two games against Laurentian this season.
uOttawa went 1-1 in Kingston over the weekend, losing to Queen’s (82-74) on Friday night then responding with a 82-47 victory over the winless Paladins less than 24 hours later.
“A win in Saturday’s game was important for us especially after Friday’s loss to Queen’s, said Gee-Gees head coach Andy Sparks.
“We are now getting prepared for the play-offs so the win against RMC was good for our confidence plus it gave me the opportunity to play a lot of the kids.
Now we will start preparing for Laurentian.”
uOttawa and Laurentian split their two game season series this year. On January 9 the Gee-Gees defeated Laurentian at Montpetit Hall 73-50. Last week-end the Voyageurs returned the favour by knocking off uOttawa 75-60 on their home court.
Game time on Wednesday night is 7:00 p.m. at Montpetit Hall.
