GAME STORY:
The Gee-Gees were hoping to add another two wins to their record on the road in Toronto this weekend, but the Toronto Varsity Blues had the same idea in mind, defeating the Gee-Gees 61-54 Friday evening.

After giving up both of their regular season games to the Varsity Blues last season, the Gee-Gees defeated them in the OUA East final to claim their second ever OUA East title.

Leading the Gee-Gees was third-year centre and Toronto native Hannah Sunley-Paisley with 21 points and 17 rebounds. Fourth-year guard Melina Wishart (Ottawa, Ont.) also had an impressive performance with 17 points, but it would not be enough for the Gee-Gees.

The Blues were 38.6% for field goals and 17.4% from the three-point line, while the Gee-Gees were 25.4% field goals and 20% from three-point line.

This now brings the Gee-Gees’ regular season record to 7-5.

The Gee-Gees remain in Toronto overnight and will look to return home with a win tomorrow evening, as they take on the Ryerson Rams at 6:00 p.m. The webcast can be viewed online at www.broadcastsports.ca.
