The University of Ottawa Gee-Gees faced the University of Waterloo Warriors on Saturday night in what was a lop-sided affair. The Warriors failed to get into a rhythm throughout the night and Ottawa took advantage with a steady attack. As a result, they took the easy 85-36 victory on the road.
It was a team effort for the Gee-Gees as five players had nine points of more in the game. Maddie Stephen (Toronto, Ont.) led the way with 14 points and continues to lead the OUA in rebounding with 11.7 rebounds per game.
Catherine Traer also performed well for the Gee-Gees as she contributed with 10 points of her own. In her rookie season, the 6 foot 1 forward is averaging 5.0 points per game and is ranked third in the OUA in blocks with 1.5 blocks per game.
The Gee-Gees shot 55.6 per cent from the field on the night as they dominated the Warriors. Ottawa is currently ranked second in the OUA in scoring with 70.2 point per game.
Ottawa will go into the winter break on a high note and prepare for their return to the court on January 4th as they will face York University and Laurentian University on the following night.
