The Gee-Gees are undefeatable so far in this new year, triumphing in a smooth 86-38 victory over RMC tonight to advance to a 7-4 record. The Gee-Gees now sit in a solid third place position in the OUA East only a game behind second place Toronto.

First-year guard Sarah Nolette, Edmonton, Alb, led the Gee-Gees in scoring with 18 points and first-year guard Kim Cupid, Toronto, Ont., led in rebounds for the garnet and grey with 7. First-year guard Tatiana Hanlan, Gatineau, Qué., also had a break-out performance, sinking 17 points of her own.

“Everybody played pretty equally,” said head coach Andy Sparks, “The time was very evenly split and it was a good time for us to play everyone and try to put our [strategies] into play. We’re still not clicking overall, but certainly we were the more talented team.”

“It was a good result of us tonight,” concluded Sparks, though admitting “we’re going to get a much tougher game tomorrow night against Queen’s.”

The Gee-Gees will stay in Kingston overnight, taking on the Queen’s Gaels tomorrow night, January 15, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. to close out the weekend.
