Senior Nights are always filled with emotion. For Nancy Pellerin, her last game at Montpetit Hall is among her best memories of her time with the Gee-Gees basketball team. On February 2 of 2002, the basketball squad rallied up and gave it their best for their fellow teammate. When the buzzer rang at the end of the game, there was nothing left but exhausted Gee-Gees and Ravens. Final score? 66-62 for Ottawa. The great efforts of Lisa Bergin with 17 points, and Geneviève Laroche and Pellerin with 14 each gave the Gee-Gees the edge over Carleton. The 2001-2002 season also marked the debut of Angie McLeod as the head coach for Ottawa. During her three years with the team, she took the program from a 2-18 record to 17-5. The 2003-2004 Gee-Gees won their first ever OUA championship, en route to a 5th place finish at the CIS championships.
