SUMMER DAY CAMPSDuring the summer months, the University of Ottawa opens its doors to give the youth in our community a chance to learn and explore in the safe, friendly and bilingual setting of the Gee-Gees Summer Camps. These specially designed programs allow children of almost every age to take part in a variety of sports, games, activities and recreational swims. The chants, laughter and friendly banter of campers and counselors are now a staple of campus life in the summer months. |

Unless otherwise stated, camps begin at 9:00am, and run until 4:00pm. Considering the increasing popularity of our free childcare service, this year childcare will be offered out of three locations. These locations are indicated on the Campus Map (PDF).
As always during the week days, we are accommodating to parents and guardians schedules. Participants can be dropped off as early as 7:30am and picked up as late as 5:15pm.*
For security reasons, you must drop off the participant to the appropriate pick-up and drop-off location according to the camp he or she is registered.
* Late fees: To keep all participants under safe supervision at all times we must charge a late fee if you do not arrive by 5:15 pm. The late fee is $5 for each extra 15 minute period.
Should you need free parking at the Sports Complex or at Lees Campus, you may use the parking lot S at the 801 King Edward Sports Complex and the parking in front of hall C for Campus Lees between 7:30 and 9:00 and 16:00 and 17:15. We ask you to leave within 15 minutes and to avoid parking at the meters. Parking on Louis-Pasteur, University and Jean Jacques Lussier streets or at the main entrance of 801 King Edward Avenue is not allowed. These are fire zone areas and should you park there, you will be ticketed.
Please be advised that changes have been made to parking procedures at Montpetit Hall. Due to the construction of a new Social Sciences building, the University of Ottawa has closed parking lot “X” until construction is completed. Parents and children will continue to enter at Montpetit Hall, using the south exteriors doors to the gymnasium hall.
Pick-up and drop-off of children will take place using the Brooks garage. You will be allowed to park between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., and between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. You will take a ticket to enter the garage. When dropping off or picking up your child and signing the registry, camp staff will hand you a voucher to exit the Brooks garage at no charge. Any parking outside the indicated hours will be charged to parents.
For security reasons, you must drop off the participant to the appropriate pick-up and drop-off location according to the camp he or she is registered.
* Applies to summer day camps only ; taking place Monday to Friday
Unless otherwise noted, participants take part in a recreational swim session each day. The recreational swim sessions take place in the morning or the afternoon. Campers must all perform a swim test which consists of swimming one length of the pool with ease. If the participant is unable to do so, he or she will be given a green bracelet and a life jacket. For safety measures the camper must wear the green bracelet all week. Special activities will be organized for campers who do not wish to participate in the recreational swim session.

Once the registration has been received, a camp staff member will call you within a maximum of 48 hours to confirm receiving the registration form and the availability of the camp. On this site, you will be able to see current and previous registrations, your family account details and the participants’ schedule. You will be able to modify your address, add members to your family account, modify your PIN # and if necessary, add registrations and carry out payments. Camp Registration Form (PDF) Camp Availability The availability of the camps is updated and posted on the Gee-Gee Reg website. Here, you can simply open a session and choose the desired camp (ex : Basketball Camp) in the left side margin, and press on the camp title you would like to select (ex : GG Camps – Basketball – Junior and Intermediate – Summer) on the right, where you will find general descriptions.
