Adjeitey and Tétreault All Canadian, All the Way

The awards and accolades keep pouring in for Cyril Adjeitey and Sebastien Tétreault.

Adjeitey a wide receiver from Ghana, Africa was named to the 2nd team offence while Tétreault, a defensive tackle from Granby, Quebec, earned a spot on the 2nd defensive squad.

This is Tétreault’s second time being named an All-Canadian, and Adjeitey’s first.

“Both players deserve to be recognized as All-Canadians,” said Gee-Gees head coach, Denis Piché. “Seb and Cyril are tremendous leaders on our team. Both players are captains with unparalleled work ethics. They are star performers on the field, excellent students with extraordinary time management skills.”

Adjeitey fully appreciates the magnitude of this honour and is something he will always cherish.

“The distinction of being named All-Canadian means a great deal to me,” the biochemistry major said. “As personal goals go in a season, being named an All-Canadian is one you definitely keep on the checklist. However, none of these accolades are earnable without the help of your teammates, training staff and coaches.”

For Tétreault, the distinction of being named one of the best football players in the CIS is something that is truly special.

“It’s always gratifying to be recognized by coaches around the league as a valuable player,” the fourth year human kinetics major explained. “Individual awards are second to what you want to achieve with your team, but it kind of brought a little joy to the abrupt end of season that we (uOttawa) had.

I thank my coach for allowing me to live that experience. Coaches are a big part of the process of getting nominated. It’s the second time that I have been named an All-Canadian it’s a great experience and makes you want to work even harder so you can make it again.”
Adjeitey and Tétreault are eligible to return again next season with the Gee-Gees football.
