Sports Services offers a wide variety of memberships to a diverse clientele. Our members can also take advantage of preferred member pricing on instructional, outdoor, intramural, squash courts, and group fitness activities.

Membership sales are final.  No full or partial refunds will be issued in cases where a member’s status changes nor in the case of a new dual status during the membership agreement.  Students withdrawing from the University of Ottawa for any reason lose access privileges to the sports facilities. The “Member of an Immediate Family of a Member” rate is not applicable to members of the “Student Enrolled at the University of Ottawa” category or to Members of the APTPUO. A valid driver’s license is required as proof of residence.
 

MEMBERSHIPS FOR STUDENTS

You are automatically a member of Sports Services if you are a student at the University of Ottawa for the current semester, and if your registration file is in good standing. All costs associated with your student membership are included in student ancillary fees.

A Student Membership includes access to:

  • Sports Services Fitness Centres (HLC&MNT);
  • Aerobics classes (HLC&MNT);
  • Montpetit Hall swimming pool during scheduled free swim times;
  • Squash (HLC&MNT);
  • Recreational activities in the MNT gymnasiums, on the Matt Anthony field and at the skating rink during scheduled times;
  • Preferred member pricing on Sports Services instructional, outdoor and intramural activities.
    Note: Parking is not included for student members. Only members may reserve squash courts up to seven days in advance.


MEMBERSHIPS FOR UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA EMPLOYEES AND RETIREES

1.   A Sports Services Basic/Aquatic Membership includes access to:

  • Montpetit Hall facilities except for the fitness centre;
  • Montpetit Hall swimming pool during scheduled free swim times;
  • Squash (MNT only);
  • Recreational activities in the MNT gymnasiums, on the Matt Anthony field and at the skating rink during scheduled times;
  • Preferred member pricing on Sports Services instructional, outdoor and intramural activities;
  • Use of rowing machines in Montpetit Hall.

2.   A Sports Services Basic/Aquatic + Montpetit Fitness Centre Membership includes all privileges of      Basic/Aquatic Membership, plus:

  • Access to the Montpetit Hall Fitness Centre during normal hours of operation.

3.   A Sports Services All-Inclusive Membership includes all the privileges of Basic Membership, plus:

  • Access to the Sports Services Fitness Centres (HLC&MNT) during normal hours of operation;
  • Aerobics classes (HLC&MNT);
  • Squash (HLC&MNT).

Note: Only members may reserve squash courts up to seven days in advance.
 

MEMBERSHIPS FOR THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE

1.   A Sports Services Basic/Aquatic Membership includes access to:

  • Montpetit Hall swimming pool during scheduled free swim times;
  • Squash (MNT only);
  • Recreational activities in the MNT gymnasiums, on the Matt Anthony and at the skating rink during scheduled times;
  • Preferred member pricing on Sports Services instructional, outdoor and intramural activities.

2.   A Sports Services All-Inclusive Membership includes all the privileges of Basic/Aquatic Membership, plus:

  • Access to the Sports Services Fitness Centers (HLC&MNT) during normal hours of operation;
  • Aerobics classes (HLC&MNT);
  • Squash (HLC&MNT);
  • Parking during your training session (Time limit: 2 hours, Sports Complex parking lot only).

Note: Parking is not included for basic members.
Only members may reserve squash courts up to seven days in advance.
 

DAILY ACCESS PRIVILEGES

Day passes may be purchased by Sports Services Basic Members wanting access to the Fitness Centers and Aerobic Classes or by non-members wanting full access to Sports Services facilities. Each Sports Services member may also invite two (2) guests who must be at least 16 years of age. Each guest must pay the applicable fee and must be accompanied by the member at all times. All guests will be asked to sign a waiver form and the Sports Services member will assume full responsibility for their guests during the visit by signing the designated area on the guest waiver form.

GUEST AND FAMILY PRIVILEGES ACCESS POLICY FOR MONTPETIT HALL SPORTS FACILITY

Those aged 15 and under must be accompanied into the facility and change rooms by a responsible individual aged 16 and over.

GUEST PRIVILEGES

Applicable guests fees at Montpetit Hall and the Health and Lifestyle Centre: $7.14/visit (plus applicable taxes). Each Sports Services member can invite 2 guests who must be at least 16 years of age. The guess must pay the applicable fee and must be accompanied by the member at all times. The member of Sports Services and his/her guests must also show proper I.D. and complete the guests main form. The guest must keep and carry all receipts as proof of payment. Sports Services day pass holders may access all sports facilities during scheduled recreational activities, both fitness centres, aerobic classes and squash/racquetball courts at no additional costs. Guests may also access all sports facilities during scheduled recreational activities, both fitness centres, aerobic classes and squash courts at no additional costs.

Note: Sports Services day pass holders are not considered members, and therefore cannot invite guests to the sports facilities.

FAMILY PRIVILEGES THERE ARE NO FAMILY PRIVILEGES AT THE HEALTH AND LIFESTYLE CENTRE, 801 KING EDWARD OR AT THE FITNESS CENTRE AT MONTPETIT HALL (125 UNIVERSITY STREET).

Immediate family members of Sports Services members may enter Montpetit Hall free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays only, if accompanied by the member and must adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Family and guest privileges do not apply to the Fitness Centres but apply to the recreational programs and their established schedules.
  2. Immediate family members cannot borrow the member's card to gain access to the sports facilities and must pay the applicable fees for squash court bookings.
  3. Children over the age of 7 must use the gender-appropriate change room. In the change room, we recommend that children under the age of 10 should be supervised by a member or an adult of the same gender.
  4. Children under the age of 16 may have access to the saunas and squash courts only if accompanied by a member or a responsible adult.
  5. Members must accompany their family guests at all times during their visit to the facilities.

FALSE ENTRY

Any person using another person's card, or a forged or altered card, is subject to the sanctions of the University regulations on fraud and will lose their membership privileges without refund. People who try to admit another person to our facilities illegally shall be expelled from the premises and will lose their membership privileges without refund.
